Uncle Jeremy's visit...

Jeremy came to visit after Ethan came home, we had a great time!!

Ethan came home...

So...Ethan came home, it was relatively uneventful since the boys were with Dave for the week. I do remember however being extremely nervous, partially because I wanted to be there right when he arrived and partially because after that long you have some fears...like fearing the unknown in the reunion, like will Ethan and Lexi bond, will he still feel the same way about me, will we transition into the day to day quickly...There is so much that is so fun and exciting yet so scary about reuniting...it all turned out great...things were as if he never left, and love having him home!!!

Wow...its been a while

I cannot believe that we haven't blogged since 2009!! I have some catching up to do!! I'll do my best to go in order, since I want to have my blog printed into a book like Leah did so its like a family journal!!

Been Awhile

So I realized it's been a while since anyone posted on here. It's 1120 pm in Afghanistan and I can't sleep. Thankfully it's my day off so I won't be dead tired when my work shift starts in 40 minutes. Anyway I just wanted to let everyone know that we are still around and that you can always write us on here.

Gregorys First Day of School

The administrator bringing Greg out to our car, his school will bring your child right to your car if you have other children in the car to make it easier on the parents, very nice but he would rather ride the bus...oh well!!

Our Night At The Gym

So here's the story. At around 6pm we notice that our AC isn't on. This is not a good sign since it got up to 107 today. After a quick investigation we came to the horrific truth: our power was out. Since we had our AC blasting at 68 degrees we were lucky in the sense that we could keep the house cool while we waited out the 10 minutes of no power. In the summertime here in California, like most places, the sun goes down between 8:30 and 9:30 and at this time we still didn't have power. So much for 10 minutes. 

Since we were in the process of moving out of our base housing, we didn't have any candles, lanterns, or flashlights so when night fell it got dark quick. Let me take the time to tell you that the temperature was still in the 90s. People are getting calls left and right from their Squadrons wanting to know if they were ok and if they needed anything. I, on the other hand, had to be the one calling my shop to see what we could do.

A Security Forces cruiser circles around our Court and announce that the gym has beds and AC for those of us without power. Oh I forgot to mention that not all of Georgetown was without power, just our side. So the Wims trio headed to the gym.

They have the foldable cots set up like the ones you sleep on during Warrior Week in Basic, and I don't know what the gym considers AC, but our views are way different. Not that I'm trying to sound like a complainer, but this wasn't exactly the fun night of popcorn and movies that we had planned. So after we get all set up a 1st Sergeant from the MDOS comes by and wants to know if we need anything. Thanks to Alexis they didn't like the conditions that we were in so they set up the Hospitality Room for us at the Dorms. So the Wims trio headed to the dorms.  We get to the room and it smells like dust. There is a bunk bed that we are going to sleep on, a T.V. with cable (this was actually a big deal) and a VHS player. This was better than the gym but nothing can compare to your own home.

Anywhoo, I run back to the house to grab out pillows and fresh undies for us since we can shower at the dorms and out of habit I flip the light switch and the light came on. They had set up a generator at the end of the street and so I ran back, got Becky and Alexis, and six hours after the power went off we came back home to finally go to bed. 

Big Brothers...

Alexis...

Alexis is such a joy to have in our lives...She was born May 25th at 3:33 in the morning weighing in at 5lbs 8oz and 18.5 inches, so she is long and skinny. She is so well tempered. We feel so blessed to have been given such a wonderful blessing...She is definitely a perfect addition to what was already a wonderful set of kids!! We just love her to death!!

Western

Ethan loves to get the boys all dressed up and use their fine acting skills in his film making. I think he likes that they don't charge much for their acting fees. A cookie here and there...Well ever since we moved to Cali we have been missing the cord to put the footage from the video camera onto the computer, I finally gave in and got him the cord, which I am sure means we will find it next week now...so here is the first of a few that have stacked up in the Ethan director files...Enjoy!!

Park Pics...

We have a park in easy walking distance from our house and sometimes while I make dinner Ethan will walk down to the park and he will do some good hard playing to help wear the boys down before bed. These are some pics he took with his phone a few weeks ago! Fun Fun

Our Bike Ride to the Duck Pond...

We have so much fun riding our bikes to the duck pond, this was a few days before the boys left to go to their dads house and the boys did so great, they rode really well and we didn't have any "can you ride my bike for me mom?" requests. I love great memories like this one...

Everyday we love to go ride bikes, yesterday we spent from 9:00 am until 5:30 pm on bikes only to break for lunch and naps!! It is soo much fun to play outside now that the weather is getting nicer!!

So, yesterday we got approached by the picture people to do a photo shoot for free and get a free 10X13, this has happened before, business must be slow, and both times the kids were wearing the most random things that they had picked out themselves. The pics always turn out so cute even though the boys are a mismosh of colors and themes.

So here are our first gifts from my exciting baby shower!! We are sooo excited for baby Alexis to come....although none of us are quite as excited as Gregory. He talks about Alexis all the time and asks me how she's doing almost everytime he sees me. It is soo nice to see all the boys getting so into getting ready for the new baby to come!
